WIN: Eleanor J’adore 35th Birthday Giveaway with The Perfect Hair

eleanor j'adore - WIN: Eleanor J’adore 35th Birthday Giveaway with the Perfect Hair

Today I have products up for grabs from one of my favourite South African natural hair care brands, The Perfect Hair. I’ve previously raved about them over here, partly because I loved the products themselves and the ingredients in them, but also partly because I’ve had the opportunity to meet the creator of the brand, Taryn Gill, a couple of times and remember how absolutely inspired I felt after having chatted with her. She is truly committed to bringing South Africans a world class hair product that can be compared with some of the best ones internationally.

The Perfect Co-Wash

This is the co-wash that got me hooked back onto co-washing again after months of not really feeling it. Coconut oil, castor seed oil, shea butter and gingko biloba extract along with other natural ingredients come together to form a creamy non-sudsy cleanser that’s gentle enough to use just about everyday.

The Perfect Curl – Style

If you’re looking for a leave-in conditioner and styling cream in one, this is definitely it. I apply onto my soaking wet hair and rake it into my strands really well. That way all the moisture gets locked in and I don’t have to worry about my curls becoming frizzy. The main ingredient responsible for this is the one called cashmere croteins, which promise to protect against frizz, even in high humidity.

The Perfect Aloe Gel

So here we have the new kid on the block, one of The Perfect Hair’s latest additions to their arsenal of products. Before I start telling you about how this gel works, can we just take a minute to talk about the smell? To be honest I can’t really describe it to you, but the only thing I can think of equating it to, is to a lovely bubble bath aroma. That doesn’t even make sense, does it? But when I close my eyes and take in the bouquet it reminds me of the scent I used to inhale years ago when taking a bath. I’m now convinced the bubble bath I used  to use smelled exactly the same. Anyway, it basically smells like heaven in a jar.

If you’re new to being a naturalista, let me quickly inform you that aloe is excellent for both hair and skin, imparting extreme moisture and healing properties to both, but it can be a real pain to try and extract fresh aloe gel from the plant itself. And most commercial skin and hair care products contain such little amounts of it that I doubt how effective it can really be.

This is where I get really excited about The Perfect Aloe Gel. It’s a fairly thin, quite “liquidy” gel that feels light-weight to the touch. The juices of the Aloe Ferox and the Aloe Barbadensis leaves meld together to form a gel that gives maximum hold and definition, without the crunch we so often experience with gels in general. I like to apply it as the second step during my styling process, right after I’ve applied The Perfect Curl – Style cream.

Because it has such great hold you can also use it to style and tame your edges as well as for slicked back styles.
